– Sailing experiences tailored to your individual requirements.
– Exclusive use of the yacht for your group of family or friends.
– Sailing to your timetable, rather than fitting the timetable of others.

What will be the cost of my experience?

The cost of your experience may vary depending on special offers and the number of people taking part. Please contact us to arrange the details of your booking and allow us to accurately quote you.

What is included in the experience fee?

Included in the cost of your sailing experience with one of our qualified skippers you’ll receive full safety gear and briefing, as well as basic sailing tutelage if desired.

What do I need to pack for the experience?

Warm, wind resistant clothing is recommended for sailing as well as light-soled non-slip shoes. If you have any wet weather gear we recommend bringing that along, though we can supply some wet weather gear if required.

Which sailing qualifications or experience do I need?

No sailing qualifications or experience is required to enjoy Contessa 32 Experience, you can be as involved in the sailing as you wish. We can even arrange your experience to be working towards a qualification of your own as-per request.

What sort of boat will I be on?

You’ll be on a Contessa 32, one of the most classic and famous yachts in the world renowned for its sea-kindliness and sailing performance. Find out more about the yacht.

Do I need to be in good physical shape to sail?

Sailing is not particularly athletic but if you choose to get heavily involved in the experience there may be some minor demands on your stamina and strength!

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend allowing as much time to plan your experience as possible. Be aware that the closer to your sailing date you book the more difficult it may be to accommodate all your needs. Starting the arrangement 8 weeks beforehand usually allows ample time.

What type of amenities will be included in the experience?

As well as basic food on board, the yacht comes equipped with cooking and toilet facilities.

What type of food and drinks will be served onboard?

If arranged beforehand, basic lunch and dinner can be provided with your experience.

We will do our best to accommodate your cancellation request given sufficient notice. Full details of our cancellation policy can be found in our Charter Terms.

How do I pay and what type of payments do you accept?

We are happy to receive payment via direct bank transfer, cash or PayPal.

Do I have to tip the captain?

Tipping is not mandatory or expected. However if you would like to tip your skipper we have no policy against this.

What’s a “skippered charter”?

A skippered charter experience means you’ll be accompanied by a qualified skipper with local sailing knowledge. He or she will take care of daily running of the yacht and be available to help you learn sailing from scratch or improve your existing skills. Get involved sailing the yacht, ot relax onboard and let your skipper take control.

Can I charter without a skipper?

No, for insurance reasons a skipper must always be on board. The skipper is happy to take a back seat to the sailing if you’d like to be in control!

What happens if there’s bad weather?

We will give you as much prior notice to potential disruptions due to weather, but on the day of your experience it’s down to the skipper’s discretion whether the experience goes ahead. View more information on weather disruptions in our Charter Terms page.

How do I know the boat will be in good condition?

Our yacht is lovingly maintained to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, and we are fully licensed with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for commercial chartering. This requires a comprehensive array of safety gear and in-depth inspection of this gear before a license is granted.

What’s the max number of people I can bring on the boat?

The yacht has a maximum capacity of 6 people including your skipper.
